About
IFC Daylight Factor is built by the upskiller team: Stasja, Christoph, Libny and Alejandro (BIMTech Innovations AB).
It started as Alejandro's research project in Lund University, continued through his work at BAU and White Arkitekter, and eventually led him to IaaC's MACAD program, where he crossed paths with Libny, Christoph, and Stasja.
After graduating, the four of them decided to turn Alejandro's long-standing daylight idea into a real platform. IFC Daylight Factor was built from scratch, drawing on years of prior research and the team's combined expertise in architecture, machine learning, and software development.
This open, browser-based IFC Daylight Factor tool was developed with support from Belysningsstiftelsen. Marie-Claude Dubois at LTH contributed to the scientific validation of our approach. A more advanced ML model and a Revit commercial plugin was built independently with support from Vinnova, Almi, and Scaleway and in collaboration with Alberto Floris.
